How to SAVE money Going to the Movies!

How to save money on going to the movies

Helium Article 500-1500 Words.

From any search engine, if you type in “How to save money at the movies” your first 25 listings will have these 10 saving tips;

1.      Eat First

2.      Want Candy? Bring your own.

3.      Join your Local Theater

4.      Buy bulk tickets

5.      Credit discounts

6.      Buy at Costco

7.      Wait until the Movie is out of theatres

8.      Grab Group discounts

9.      Divy up the snacks you do buy

10.  Go to a 2nd tier theater

That’s the skinny from about 15 different bloggers, articles and websites and Google still has 900,000 entries to read through. Let start with the obvious ten and add a couple more that you may not know about.

Moviephone.com - offers discounts to their members, and membership is free. Also with this program (sign up via the internet) you get free passes to movie screenings at different locations in your area. That’s an opportunity to see a movie that isn’t released yet! You may also receive an opportunity to rate it for the box office, plus it’s an outing that creates memories.

Local street rags, by that I mean newspapers; I have the New Times here which is the local music, theater and art scene with a liberal political standpoint. It comes out every Thursday and I have found admissions to free events every week. We even scored free movie tickets to Rango, prior to release from the Tempe Rock Gym all we had to do was show up.

-Don’t forget 2$ movie theaters, the order for new releases is Opening day in major theaters, after about 6 weeks they move the movie to a 2nd rate theater, then it goes to Netflix, Red box, Amazon, etc. after which you can purchase the DVD at your local retailer.

Research your movie choices which would you prefer? Big theater, 2nd theater, Rental or wait to own;  if you really are not sure you can always wait for the free listing through memberships like Amazon Prime or Netflix. The choice is up to you!

Know your 3D movie, sometimes movies are offered in 3D in order to jack up the price which is usually about 3 or 4$, not all movies are shot for 3D. Check your movie out at -  RealorFake3D.com to see whether something was shot in 3D or retrofitted to save yourself the headache and some cash!

Do you have a credit card with Chase?  They have some nice offers from time to time. Three months out of the year you get 5% cash back for any money spent at movie theaters. A great idea to time bulk ticket purchases and save even more money.

Amc Amazing

If you see a movie at AMC before Noon on any day, it's only $6. That's less than half of the regular ticket price. If it's 3D or IMAX, the regular added charge gets added to that. Not only is this a good way to save money, it's also the best time to see a movie - the auditoriums are quieter and it's less likely to fill up.

Some theaters also have special weekday pricing. Outside of big cities, matinee pricing is even more prevalent and extends throughout the afternoon, and that's at almost all theaters, not just AMC

AMC Stubs is an all-new program that we are offering to our guests as a way to reward them for going to AMC Theatres. It will replace the previous MovieWatcher® program and provide bigger, better and more exciting benefits than ever before.

  • $10 AMC Stubs Reward for every $100 you spend
  • Free upgrades on concessions anytime
  • Online ticket purchase fees waived
  • Access to your online ticket stub collection

AMC Stubs has an annual fee of $12 (that’s only $1 a month).
